About Us

We, John and Barb, have been on a mission to declutter our Stuff.  Decluttering the Stuff allows us to move towards a Decluttered Life!  This blog will allow us to share the experience with you.  This has been a lifestyle changing journey.

John has a B.S. degree in Physics and a M.S. degree in Geosciences.  Barb has a B.A. and M.S. degree in Biology.  We are both science teachers – John is now retired! I’m hoping to retire soon.  We both look at the world from a scientific perspective which sometimes slows us down!  We recycled and composted long before others.  We are both concerned about the world our children (and granddaughters) will inherit and feel we need to do more.  Decluttering the stuff is one small step in our journey toward a decluttered life.

We were married June 1984 (38 years ago!)  We have 2 adult daughters (ages 35 and 33), 1 son-in-law, and 2 amazing granddaughters (4 1/2 and 21 months as of 7/2022, my where has the time gone!)  We have lived in our current home since December 1989 (32 years already!)  Time sure flies!  It feels like yesterday we were starting a family and moving into this house!

We have merged our travel blog with this one – another decluttering aspect of our lives.   We are attempting to document our travels through the United States.  We feel truly blessed that we were able to share our love of adventure and the natural world with our children during the summers while they lived at home, starting first with a tent, upgrading to a pop-up tent-trailer, promoting to a class C motorhome, and now graduating to a class A motorhome.  All the travel information is definitely a work in progress.
