Taxes Submitted

Well, we are self-isolating and had nothing better to do.  We did our taxes this morning.  Good news is we are getting $1145 back from the state and owe only $16 to the feds!

Yay! Good for you getting that out of the way! And a refund is terrific!

And we just ignore how much we have deducted during the year. It makes it easier to be happy about our overpaying the government.

Haha!! That’s what I did yesterday!! We paid quite a bit last year for Fed.. and while I was doing them yesterday, a question came up that I didn’t do last year because I didn’t want to pay for the upgrade product and duh, I went from owing to getting money back! Now I’m really wondering if I should look into amending last years return.

We’ve done amendments before. It is really straightforward and usually worth it. One year we somehow forgot to enter our property taxes paid!

I had to amend this year’s taxes because I forgot the healthcare form. It was definitely an easy process and we ended up getting an extra $500 from it, but our refund is now delayed 12-16 weeks.

awesome! at least you know it is coming and will show up when you most need it – isn’t that how these things work?
