Finally writing about this frustration.
My Corelle/Pyrex history: everyone seemed to have Corelle dinnerware and Pyrex cookware. My mother purchased Corelle Old Town Blue in the mid 70’s. She had it for about 10 years before giving it to me. I had it until 2001 (I bought the replacement on 9/10.) It never faded or broke. It was durable beyond belief but I wanted something new after having it for about 15 years.

I then purchased a complete set of Corelle Casa Flora. After 20 years, I was ready for a replacement. Being home for every meal due to COVID restrictions made it easy to grow tired of them. This set was also durable beyond belief. Why would I change brands?? I even had this brand (pattern Watercolors) in the RV – they have survived all our travels for about 20 years so far.

So in late 2021, I finally made the decision to purchase “Corelle” Azure Medallion. I should have known something was off when a box of bowls arrived shattered. I returned/replaced them. The replacements also arrived with several broken pieces. The third attempt had unbroken bowls. I figured it had something to do with shipping carelessness.
We used the dishes just a few times and we noticed several oddities. The plates and bowls did not stack neatly and the paint was fading. My older sets never faded. Weird, right?

I contacted the manufacturer – they were not helpful in the least – they made it seem like I was doing something wrong with the dishes.
Upon further investigation, the original Corelle and Pyrex were made in the United States. The company was sold over and over again with many of the products made in China (as were my recent purchase) or had changes in the chemical composition.
My solution: throw away the yucky, new Corelle and buy Fiesta Bistro dinnerware! I love the new dishes and this new style! They are more expensive than the Corelle but so far, worth every penny. The Corelle in the RV is holding up so it stays.
We do not receive any compensation from Fiesta for saying their dinnerware is wonderful.
