Decluttering the Stuff for a Decluttered Life in Retirement

Declutter the Desk Drawer

I know I started the filing cabinet BUT I opened the desk drawer for something and decluttering the stuff kicked in.

How many of you have correction film and no typewriter??  Well we don’t any more!

And how many small worthless sharpeners do you have?  We had 5!  Being the person I am, I had to test the three sharpeners I thought I might use (those that catch the shavings).  The scientist in me set up an experiment – sharpen brand new pencils (I have 41 to pick from) and twirled them in the sharpener for 20 turns to compare the effectiveness of each.  Results are shown below.  Conclusion: NONE WORK worth a darn and need to be decluttered.

John just shook his head when I explained what I was doing haha it makes me happier to KNOW it really needed to go because it didn’t work.

    Liquid paper!! lol
I have a bunch of the tiny green ones on the right there. Of course, multi-colored. They are not great, but better than nothing!!
I can’t wait till my husband lets me get ahold of HIS filing cabinet! Mine yielded so much paper, I thought I found a paper mill!
    Good job!

It’s weirdly fun now to see the stuff we kept after we thought we were done decluttering.
