Decluttering the Stuff for a Decluttered Life in Retirement

Not the tow dolly this time!

Now that you know all about our tow dolly issues, I bet you are thinking nothing else could go wrong on this trip.  Well, you would be so wrong!

Between Lubbock, Texas and Buffalo, New York we had to make an emergency stop at the Ford dealership in Charleston, West Virginia.

As we were beginning our day, John noticed Winnie was running hot.  Thankfully we were near Charleston and they had a Ford dealer.  They don’t have the facilities to work on RV’s but took pity on us and looked to see if it was something “easy” to fix.  A hose had wiggled loose with all the crappy roads we were traveling on, burned a hole in it, and we were out of radiator fluid.  They were able to order a part to fix the hose.  Thankfully everything could be accessed from under the rig and through the hood opening.  Otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to help us at that location and they are the “largest” one in the state.

$493 later we were on the road again!

Something similar happened to me in a rental car in the wilderness of Utah. Aaah!

OH MY! I think that would be worse! At least we didn’t have to wait for a rental company. Or maybe it would be better – just a phone call and wait for a replacement car. But you never expect things like this with a newish rental car.

a road trip just isn’t a road trip without a detour to a garage 😉 Having said that, we’re hoping to avoid Ford dealers for the next few weeks – Scandinavian prices can really make your eyes water!

Glad they got everything sorted for you.

True but a few less trips would have been nice this year!
