I started a 2024 in 2024 checkoff page because it is motivating for us (such as “We need 17 more items to hit 100.”)โFirst place – the garage!โIf your garage looked like ours, you can find at least “17” more items! โ
We recently ordered a new garage door and really needed to take decluttering the garage seriously.โThey made it seem like the entire garage needs to be empty but that doesn’t make sense.โAnyways, we are going to attempt to get a few things decluttered and reorganized to make it easier for the installer.โ(as of today 26 Jan, we’ve removed about 500 items!)
I wish we had some old pictures from the garage.โThings just seem to multiple out there!
We moved one of the shelving units from near the door to the other end of the garage next to the shelving unit for all of Kiddo#2’s stuff (no reason for her to pay over $200 per month for storage when it will mostly fit on a shelving unit.)
Did we take photos of all the stuff we decluttered?โNope, but I know you can imagine what some old paint cans and similar items look like.โJohn took 3 boxes to hazardous waste drop off.โJohn even removed the extra floor tiles and laminate strips, left over molding, and even some random wood and plywood pieces.
Here are a few pics to show our progress.โNew garage door was installed last Friday!โStill need some decluttering out there but we are definitely pleased with the result so far.
The car dolly is now moved over to the side, giving us a little more floor space.โIt used to be square dab in the middle of the garage for the last 4 years!โWhat took us so long?
