I can’t believe another month has passed! We have been crazy busy! We won’t bore you with those work related details.
Kiddo #2 is home for several weeks (sort of). She is interviewing for residency programs and many of her interviews are closer to our house than to her apartment. She decided to use us as her home base. She is here a few days, gone a few, back here a few, etc for about 6 weeks. It’s nice to have her popping in! It’s also nice that she was able to go through some more of her boxes!
Thanksgiving was wonderful! We hosted it this year. A few items had to be purchased but several more left as we cleared space for the new things. Tablecloths, napkins, etc.
Our decluttering total for November is 424 items (most of these from kiddo #2) We figure these count since they NEVER left our house when she moved out 5 years ago.
Our total so far this year is . . . 1758 items left our house!! 258 more items to reach our goal of 2016 items in 2016!!
We are about to start decorating for the holiday season. Maybe the 258 items will come from this!
Wow! 484 in November! You did a great job!! After the holidays, I need to really step it up again.

It is amazing how much more stuff we have to declutter! The stuff just seems to multiply!

I have no doubt, you’ll hit your 2016… I know I couldn’t do that.. I know I should probably join you in your 2017 next year.. but…. I think I have to think about it first 😉

I hope! Next year will be questionable. Kiddos have gone through most of their boxes haha

LOL, I hear you.. I’m amazed at all the stuff you guys have managed to get rid off.. I’m not sure I could have done it!

It does help that the house flooded! It forced us to go through the stuff faster. Thankfully (?) we didn’t have much clutter stuff damaged so we were able to go through all the boxes.

Flooding will do that to you. It’s sad that happened to you guys, but sometimes “good” things comes from disasters, in your case it’s resulted in a good declutter 😉

I know! We were on our way before it hit. I am so glad we started about 6 months earlier – we “knew” what we were doing by the time we unpacked. Living in a hotel for 3 months also helps you realize what you really need and want around you all the time.

Not having your stuff around for a while, makes you realise how few things we really need and miss, don’t it? When I went for four months to US with two suitcases, and ended up staying two years, I didn’t miss much at all.. If I was going to move permanently I would bring over my most sentimental keepsakes, but I never missed any if my regular “stuff”.
I’ve decided to bring a bit of that “mindset” to my decluttering next year… “Did I miss this when I lived in Houston? Would I pay good money to ship this abroad if I moved” and so on… Hopefully that will clear some more stuff 😏
