Friday dinner: grilled pork loin, roasted acorn squash and garden salad. We are truly enjoying the specialness of these dinners – unwinding after a week of work by candlelight. Great conversation and relaxation!
It’s the small things that make happiness.
Happy Anniversary Hubby!! I can’t believe it has been 36 years!
As you know, we occasionally look at the Days of the Year website to see if there is a “Day” we want to celebrate.
Today is “Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day“! Now how can anyone question this???
This day was started as a way to raise awareness for childhood cancers.
“Life’s short, eat Dessert First” is a phrase that has been bandied about by a lot of people for reasons both flippant and serious. Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day is one of the more serious, serving to increase awareness about childhood cancer. For children for whom every day is a blessing, it only makes sense to indulge in life’s little pleasures, and Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast day brings that opportunity to everyone. Here is the link to their website.
So about 9 am we saw this; about 10 am John went to the store to get ice cream, bananas, and whipped cream; about 10:45, we are sitting down to breakfast! (there is ice cream under the whipped cream!)
I finally finished the book I’ve been working on for about 5 months documenting one of John’s family lines from the 1740’s to present. 123 pages later! I was really wanting to finish before Christmas to present a hardbound copy to mom-in-law and I submitted it to the book binding place a couple of days ago. Hope it arrives before the holiday.
Now that that project is finished, while doing a much needed cleaning around the house, I decided to do a quick decluttering of the bathrooms again. 12 more items gone! Now I should go finish cleaning the bathrooms!
What a great feeling of accomplishment on so many fronts!
